Should I get Canon Powershot s95 or sd4500is?

Question by Amit G: Should I get Canon Powershot s95 or sd4500is?

The two cameras are hard to decide between, i know there is a RAW feature, control ring, and wider lens on the s95 but is there any other difference? The camera is for my mom and im not sure if she even knows what all that is

The SD 4500 IS offers longer optical zoom, which is sometimes a useful feature. The S95 has a wider wide angle and wider aperture, and those can be useful.
I don’t think reviews are out yet on these new models, but there have been some on their predecessors, the S90 and SD 4000 IS. As seen here, the S90 is capable of a little bit better image quality, although the SD 4000 IS comes pretty close:

It is absolutely amazing, I cannot even begin to tell you what stunning photos Canon PowerShot can take without a flash and in very low light. I love the camera so far because it’s the best quality digital camera I’ve bought in the last month. As a point and shoot it works well, and provides enough controls to get creative. I am very pleased with this camera so far.
